Marking the second anniversary of National Space Day, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday unveiled a model of the Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS) in New Delhi — India’s very own space station and a landmark project in the country’s space ambitions.

The unveiling marks a significant step forward in India’s space exploration journey.

,Outlining the upcoming space missions of our country, ISRO Chairman and Secretary, Department of Space, V Narayanan said that India’s space roadmap includes major projects, including the Chandrayaan-4 mission and a Venus Orbiter Mission. “We are going to have a space station called BAS (Bharatiya Antariksh Station) by 2035, and the first module will be lifted off by 2028.”

He further announced that by 2040, India will land and bring back the first human from space, bringing our Space Program at par with the other leading nations in the space sector.

Outlining India’s upcoming space missions, ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan said the country’s roadmap includes major projects such as the Chandrayaan-4 mission and a Venus Orbiter Mission. “We are going to have a space station called BAS (Bharatiya Antariksh Station) by 2035, with the first module set to launch in 2028,” he announced.

Narayanan added that by 2040, India aims to land the first human on the moon and bring back safely — a milestone that would place the country on par with leading spacefaring nations.
